Reason: Suggested broken symlink only broken when not root. Last edited by PabloTwo 10th June 2021 at 10:13 PM. After 3 regular kernels, the oldest of the current 3 is removed with the addition of a newer kernel.

Fedora retains 3 kernels plus a rescue kernel in it's grub menu, so upgrading to a new kernel will 'add' another entry in the grub2 menu. Keep in mind a time_out=0 with a hidden menu will make it extremely tricky to access the grub2 menu when you need to. In the ‘countdown’ case, it will show a one-line indication of the remaining time. If the timeout expires before either of these happens, it will boot the default entry. If a hotkey associated with a menu entry is pressed, it will boot the associated menu entry immediately. If ESC or F4 are pressed, or SHIFT is held down during that time, it will display the menu and wait for input. If this option is set to ‘countdown’ or ‘hidden’, then, before displaying the menu, GRUB will wait for the timeout set by ‘GRUB_TIMEOUT’ to expire. If this option is unset or set to ‘menu’, then GRUB will display the menu and then wait for the timeout set by ‘GRUB_TIMEOUT’ to expire before booting the default entry. If ‘GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE’ is set to ‘countdown’ or ‘hidden’, the timeout is instead counted before the menu is displayed.
